Daintiest Thing Ball 2017
On January 5, 2017, during the official Baker Street Irregulars Weekend in NYC, we presented the fifth annual Daintiest Thing Under a Bonnet Charity Ball, a banquet benefiting Disabled American Veterans Trust in honor of all our courageous men and women in uniform. We owe inspiration for this event to those who tirelessly serve our country, & to Dr. John Watson, army doctor, whose recovery from the ravages of the 2nd Afghan War once required the help of an extraordinary friend.
This year our theme was a raucous and sunny beach party at the beginning of January at the 3 West Club. Guests and contributors did not disappoint with a grand array of wonderful costumes, memorabilia, and donations to auction.
Together we raised $5,000 and 100% of proceeds from the ball benefited the Disabled American Veterans Trust, http://cst.dav.org/. That brought our five year total to an amazing $31,000 raised for disabled and wounded veterans. We cannot thank all of you who have contributed towards our charity balls these past four years enough. Whether you bought tickets, bid on items, donated items, or entered into a multi-thousand dollar bid war, you have helped us do this and you should be very proud.
