On Saturday 22nd of November The Baker Street Babes and The London Sherlockians put on a Sherlockian Tea Party at the gorgeous Union Chapel in London. It featured a wide selection of infamous Sherlock tea blends crafted by Cara Mcgee, provided by Adagio, we had everything from John’s Red Pants to IOU a Brew. For our Consulting Detectives at the party, they were able to have a mug custom designed for them by Cara.
There was a raffle with fantastic array of Sherlockian goodies such as a copy of the recently released Sherlock Chronicles by Steven Tribe, customised teapots by Cara and Sora, handmade dolls, samples of the infamous 221B wallpaper from the BBC Sherlock series, a signed poster from Gatiss & Friends, and lots of various artwork.
Many thanks to Wear Sherlock, Agata, Cara McGee, Mystrade Doodles, Cumberclay, and Redscharlach for your donations!
One of the best things about the party was the cosplayers, we saw some Fem!Lock, an adorable molly, Mycroft and John were there, and of course, some no nonsense Sherlock’s. It was great seeing everyone talking, dancing passionately to “Oh What a Night” , drawing and trying more than just one kind of tea.
Another bonus was the artwork provided, from John falling arse first out of a tea cup and Homes showing his Watson his tea balancing skills, to Sherlock showing us how one pours the tea the detective way. Thank you Naomi Skye, Ghostbees, Geothebio, Amiepsychique, Oochami, and Bulecelup, your artwork was gorgeous and very much loved.
This party was a delight to put together, but it was the words of kindness and the joyful atmosphere that Sherlockians seems to bring with them, that really made this event shine. We hope to have you all over for tea again soon!
