Anime Expo | Los Angeles, CA | July 3-6
Our fab graphic artist, Sora, will be representing The Babes at Anime Expo in the Artist Alley at table D2. Visit her table and you’ll be able to grab buttons, prints, charms, stickers, and an exclusive AX print if you answer our trivia question! Full details are [HERE].
Dash Con | Shaumburg, IL | July 11-13
Lyndsay and Liz will be at the first annual Dash Con, a convention for all things tumblr. Our guest page is [HERE]. We will be having an hour of Sherlockian games and then a live podcast on Friday, the 11th from 4-6PM in the Shaumburg West room. More details about Dash Con can be found on their [WEBSITE].
Fighting Nazis in a Fedora: the Proud History of Sherlockian AUs from Rathbone to Tunalock
We plan to start off with fun and games, but the podcast itself will focus on Sherlockian AUs and the fact that they’ve existed pretty much forever. We will discuss how classic film AUs like the Basil Rathbone films are both similar to and different from modern AUs like Sherlock itself and all the ever-evolving ones we dream up on Tumblr. Our panel will be a celebration of the Holmesian AU and how it’s developed over the years.
San Diego Comic Con | San Diego, CA | July 23-27
Ah, it’s Comic Con again, and SherlockeDCC is returning! Curly and Liz will be attendance at the biggest convention of the year. SherlockeDCC, whihc is happening on Friday the 25th, is sold out, but you can find details [HERE]. Otherwise we’ll be roaming around the convention, tweet us at @BakerStBabes to meet up!
Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
